Perhaps you should be proactive about making those problems get fixed,
which includes reverting offending patches? 

Whether or not that happens for other platforms, I will do it for x86
GNU/Linux -- assuming that I can find another maintainer to agree with
me, which Steven correctly points out that I must do before reverting a
patch.

It's silly for us to be knowingly adding regressions to our compiler and
then trying to go back and find them later as we try to do releases.
