Let's step back and look at the situation. Seven regressions are
annoying and unfortunate. Most ports bootstrap, so it is not preventing
most development or testing. The people who have been working on the
patches will actively work to fix the regressions. We appear to be nearly
complete with the transition, so this seems like a strange point to
retreat (darkest before dawn sort of thing). As Richard points out,
reverting the patches is delicate and error-prone as well. Reverting the
patches will take a lot of time and effort. I suggest that reverting the
patch is not an effective use of your or any other maintainer's time.
