why removing fastjar from gcc sources? we need a 100% free java sdk

I see [1] that fastjar has been removed from the gcc sources,
as a result of a decision of the GCC SC.

However, I don't see this as a good decision since this way
gcc building depends on an external program and Sun's jar program
is not free, so we ought to provide a free alternative to Sun jar.

Otherwise, I won't be possible to have a 100% free java compiler.
I think this issue is very important in order to provide users
some way out of the "java trap".

Perphaps fastjar could became a separate program from the GNU
Project, or (if there exists licence issues with regard to fasjar,
that I don't think so) perhaps GNU should provide a different replacement
for jar.

According to [2] "fastjar doesn't have a home yet.  It was rejected from savannah
because fastjar.texi is GPL and not GFDL.".

I see that fastjar does have its own site [3], but it is very
out of date (and the code base there seems not to be mantained any
more).
