I can report that it's not actually possible to bootstrap gcc on a DEC
Alpha with 64MB of memory any more.  GCC 2.95.3 managed, but GCC 3.3
doesn't.  I don't particularly care, though; it's a good excuse to get rid
of that system.  :)
