Like others have stated already, it'll take probably around 2
months before gcc-3.1 will be fully supported by the various
distributors - please note, this is *my* opinion and not that
of my employer. Why don't you go to e.g.
<http://www.redhat.com/support/errata/rh7-errata-general.html>
to find out, what updates have been released for your particular
system? Or go to an appropriate FTP mirror of ftp.redhat.com
and download
- cpp-2.96-85.i386.rpm
- gcc-2.96-85.i386.rpm
- gcc-c++-2.96-85.i386.rpm
- gcc-objc-2.96-85.i386.rpm
- sane-1.0.3-2.1.i386.rpm
- sane-devel-1.0.3-2.1.i386.rpm
You can even get a glibc-2.2.4. Of course, if want to tweak it
yourself, you can also download the corresponding .src.rpm files.
HTH, cheers.
