Upgrading RedHat GCC 2.96

Now that was SPEEDY!! :)

Thanks for your advice - I think I'll try the 3.01 rpm now and 
upgrade to 3.1 as soon as its ready. I'm trying to get a scanner 
going and three weeks feels like forever!
