I am quite willing to adjust the patches for mainline.
What I can't guarantee is WHEN these will actually get tested on anything
but i386.
In the past, OpenBSD has been falling backward wrt official GCC releases
because I didn't have enough resources to handle both mailine and branches.
Keep in mind that I'm dependent on my OpenBSD co-developers for a lot of
tests on exotic architectures.
So, as a result, there hasn't been an official GCC release that would
bootstrap without patches on an OpenBSD system for at least a few years.
I'm trying to reverse that trend. This patch is stuff that has been tested,
is more or less working, and is actually getting used on relevant
architectures. The mainline can get similar changes, and I can make sure
they get committed before the branch stuff.
That said, technical review: what parts are objectionable ? Do you agree
that, if committed to the mainline as well, these changes are not intrusive
with respect to the branch ?
