   This is a bug in coreutils 5.0.  Report it to the coreutils
   maintainers.  These "obsolete" command line options must continue
   to be supported.

This isn't a bug in coreutils, the original poster has _POSIX2_VERSION
set to something >= 200112 (i.e. POSIX 1003.1-2001) where these
options are not supported.
