I and possibly others do that once in a while (usually off-list), but it's a
matter of a) someone seeing a mail, and b) having the time to send a
response. A mail on a mailing list is much easier forgotten than a PR in
bugzilla that hasn't been confirmed yet.
It's a question of whether we have to resources to promise that we will do so
in every case. I believe we do not have these resources, and even if we did
we should make better use of them.
