re: STP for automated GCC testing

two years ago, we exchanged email about using OSDL resources
to do performance and regression testing for gcc snapshots:

I noticed today that you actually set something up, or started to:

but it looks like it's withered a bit.  Did it ever get up
and running?

I recently went to some trouble to document how to build and test
gcc/glibc cross-toolchains (http://kegel.com/crosstool),
and am now looking at performance regression testing of gcc.

gcc-3.4 is going to be a very important release -- it is
the first to support precompiled headers, and might be
the point at which gcc-3.x finally outperforms gcc-2.9x
to everyone's satisfaction and replaces gcc-2.9x
as the best way to compile the Linux kernel.
As gcc-3.4 chugs towards release, it might be useful to see
e.g. SPEC CPU2000 results on the weekly snapshots so the gcc team can
get feedback on whether it actually does perform better
than previous releases of gcc.

So perhaps it's time to revive gcc_stp in some form.
