Ok, but between "The mainline is simply not tested on SPARC for development"
and "The sparc-sun-solaris2.* platform is not supported", there is room for
a more balanced statement.

Kaveh already tests the trunk regularly, both on SPARC and SPARC64, so we
have a pretty good picture of which (sets of) patches break what on the
platforms. I sometimes use his results to bug developers about new problems
(for example, Mark quickly fixed the minor problems his overhaul of the
testsuite had introduced) but we can't permanently do that, otherwise the
responsiveness will quickly decrease.
In any cases, mores testing is always welcome!
