Additional failures on i586-pc-linux-gnu vs. i686-pc-linux-gnu

From

http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2002-03/msg00631.html
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2002-03/msg00630.html

I got those additional failures on i586-pc-linux-gnu:

FAIL: gcc.c-torture/execute/loop-2c.c execution, -Os
FAIL: gcc.c-torture/execute/loop-2d.c execution, -Os
FAIL: gcc.c-torture/execute/loop-2e.c execution, -Os
FAIL: gcc.c-torture/execute/loop-3c.c execution, -Os
FAIL: 21_strings/ctor_copy_dtor.cc execution test
FAIL: 21_strings/insert.cc execution test
FAIL: 27_io/ostream_inserter_char.cc execution test

Last time when I reported additional i586 failures:

http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2002-02/msg01164.html

it turned out to be a generic gcc bug:

http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2002-03/msg00284.html

What are the causes for the additional i586 failures here?

H.J.
