PR 5440 occurs only on Solaris. libstdc++-v3 requires XOPEN_SOURCE
to be defined on Solaris, so the KDE people will have to incorporate
the workaround mentioned in PR 5440:

http://gcc.gnu.org/cgi-bin/gnatsweb.pl?cmd=view&pr=5440&database=gcc

In terms of testing KDE with GCC 3.1, testing takes time and
effort resources, which the FSF GCC project does not have
an infinite supply of.

If you are interested in GCC 3.1 and KDE working well together,
perhaps you or someone in the KDE community with enough
resources can help with the GCC 3.1 testing effort.
