Isn't it the other way round?  The latest version of GNU regex at
ftp.gnu.org is 0.12, dated back to 1993, whereas rx's latest release
is 1.5, dated 1998.

So do I.  Is anybody working to fix it right now, or should I go ahead
and do it myself?  Asking just to avoid duplicating the work...  If
nobody volunteers to do it in the next few minutes, I'll go ahead and
do it.
