Greetings,
"""
[quasar] g++ --save-temps -Isocket++ -c -o dbi.o dbi.cpp
dbi.cpp: In method `class ostream & ::dbi::DBList::put(class ostream &) const':
dbi.cpp:57: Internal compiler error.
dbi.cpp:57: Please submit a full bug report to `egcs-bugs@cygnus.com'.
"""
I started to get this error when a follow piece of code (full
preprocessed source available via www, see below)
"""
std::for_each(((std::list<DBEntry*>*)this)->begin(),
((std::list<DBEntry*>*)this)->end(),
std::mem_fun1_t(&DBEntry::put, output));
"""
to
"""
std::for_each(((std::list<DBEntry*>*)this)->begin(),
((std::list<DBEntry*>*)this)->end(),
std::const_mem_fun1_t(&DBEntry::put, output));
"""
which is correct, AFAIK, as the DBEntry::put is a const
function. The code uses namespaces. I can't go back to situation
with s/const_// anymore with 0721, though. Perhaps this is
because 0715->0721 upgrade I did just for sure before sending
this bugreport or then I've changed something else than just
that <empty> -> const_ and I can't remember what.
Anyways, I get the same error with both 0715 and 0721
snapshots. For some odd reason, though, when I applied
0715->0721 patch (and compiled and installed, of course), g++ -v
still reports:
"""
[quasar] g++ -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/egcs-2.91.51/specs
gcc version egcs-2.91.51 19980714 (gcc2 ss-980609 experimental)
"""
Well, version numbers haven't always matched before either so I
don't consider this alarming :)
The preprocessed source is available at
http://www.iki.fi/~azure/bugreports/egcs/dbi.ii.gz
(there's also small (all it managed to do till it faced the
problem) dbi.s.gz). I've understood that this list has ~40k size
limit, so I didn't attach the .ii file.
My system is Debian GNU/Linux 2.0, libc6 2.0.7t(-1), i586 with
2.1.101 kernel.
TIA,
