would it make more sense for the docs in the 4.4 branch to link to the
4.4 status page, and the docs in the 4.5 branch to link to the 4.5
status page?  Those status pages will probably remain valid, and
relate to the c++0x support implemented in that branch, whereas the
unversioned page is going to be changed to track support in the trunk,
and at some point when the "0x" becomes "11" (or whatever) that page
might disappear completely, breaking the links.
