-fpic/-fPIC testresults under sol2.9 & ppclinux trunk

I too disabled PCH for libstdc++ and ran a c,c++ only testsuite run
3-passes -fpic,-fPIC,normal on x86-linux-gnu.  It works, i.e. all
three multipasses produce correct results.

So I believe it's safe to say PCH is the culprit causing the complete
meltdown with multipass test runs.
