So, I've done this for linux-ppc and it seems ...... to work.

PCH_FLAGS='' in testsuite_flags.
Short test for -fPIC/-fpic.
I dind't run the whole suite. Just the start which failed horribly before.

The only platform which I didn't sync so far. All others don't bootstrap 
anymore. Darwin, solaris.
