I know I'm going to regret asking :-) but why are you using 2.95?

A truly immense number of bugs have been fixed between libstdc++-v3
snapshot 2.90.8 -- the last one useable with that compiler -- and the
current 3.0.95.  Any of them could be causing your problem, or it could
be something completely unrelated to libstdc++.

Assuming it is a bug in the library that has (presumably) been fixed,
you're not going to find very many volunteers willing to track down what
changed in the last year and nine months' worth of development.
