gcj and jikes

That's an argument for not rushing into Jikes.  I suspect IBM and
others are more likely to put more resources into Eclipse rather
than Jikes.

On the other hand, I assume the Eclipse compiler is written in
Java rather than in C or C++, which would be more difficult to use.
