gcc version 3.2 and gcj problem

i just built gcc version 3.2 on redhat 7.2 using gcc version 2.95.2 
19991024.

when i try to compile a java file, i get the following:

    gcj --main=HelloWorldApp -o HelloWorldApp HelloWorldApp.java

    jc1: Cannot allocate 1768386413 bytes after allocating 277984 bytes
