I've been checking in portability fixes: new ports if low risk (e.g.,
the recent Ultrix fix) and also configure bugs (e.g., the fix to the
jboolean workaround from Alexandre, or the new libtool to fix the
Solaris problem).

Of course the criteria are also up for discussion.  As far as I'm
concerned we could do more or less anything.  I just chose this course
since it seemed most prudent.
