Bootstrap problem on i686-linux-gnu

The error goes away if I use -fsave-temps, so it looks like memory
corruption.

If you could figure out when it was introduced (which patch), then
this information might be quite helpful - but it could also be just a
sideeffect.

CVS from 12 hours ago had the same problem and I redo now - I couldn't
reproduce the problem on another machine that I tried it on today, so
it really looks like a memory problem,
