RTL generation ???

Hi,
    In the flow of GCC if I will trace all the points where RTX gets 
generated and is added to the RTL chain for a sample program, and 
individually try all those rtx generating functions by passig the same 
values like gcc can I get the same RTL chain of GCC ?? And can I get the 
assembly code of it by using assembly generating functions ??
