Zack Weinberg propounded (on Sun, Nov 03, 2002 at 12:55:47PM -0800):
| Several regular posters to the gcc lists use versions of the good
| old-fashioned BSD 'mailx' program to read their mail. It does not
| insert In-Reply-To nor References headers when responding to mail,
| which means that long discussions aren't threaded properly in (e.g.)
| mutt -- this can make carrying on a discussion with these people
| involved very difficult.
|
| Some of these people expressed willingness to change to a version of
| mailx that did insert these headers, if one could be found. The
| 'nail' mailx-clone is such a program. It can be had from
| http://omnibus.ruf.uni-freiburg.de/~gritter/ and appears to be
| portable to a wide variety of Unix variants.
Why not just go straight to 'mutt'?
