[meta] mailx that generates In-Reply-To headers

Several regular posters to the gcc lists use versions of the good
old-fashioned BSD 'mailx' program to read their mail.  It does not
insert In-Reply-To nor References headers when responding to mail,
which means that long discussions aren't threaded properly in (e.g.)
mutt -- this can make carrying on a discussion with these people
involved very difficult.

Some of these people expressed willingness to change to a version of
mailx that did insert these headers, if one could be found.  The
'nail' mailx-clone is such a program.  It can be had from
http://omnibus.ruf.uni-freiburg.de/~gritter/ and appears to be
portable to a wide variety of Unix variants.
