New branch for SIMPLE/tree-ssa work

The ast-optimizer-branch has gotten pretty old and CVS operations
are taking forever.  Particularly with the frequent merging from
mainline.

I've created a new branch called tree-ssa-20020619-branch.
Unless anybody can convince me that this is a monumentally bad
idea, I'd like to move all the development for SIMPLE and tree
SSA to this new branch.

I will be bringing all the patches from the existing
ast-optimizer-branch and editing the html pages to reflect the
new branch.

I'll send mail when everything has been moved into the new
branch.
