Hi,
I tried to respond to a few bugs in the GCC GNATS system,
but the Cygnus mail relay rejected my e-mail, because it
accused me of being in the ORBS anti-spam mailer database:
====================================================================
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at sourceware.cygnus.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
<gcc-gnats@gcc.gnu.org>:
In an effort to cut down on our spam intake, we block email that
is listed by certain open-relay tracking services. Unfortunately
you may have just discovered the hard way that sometimes non-spam
mail gets caught accidentally.
In most cases you can clear this up by an upgrade to your mail
server or sometimes by getting an erroneous listing removed.
For more information about our use of these lists, see
http://gcc.gnu.org/lists.html
The IP number that I'm denying mail from is 24.147.1.156
The list that you're on is ORBS. See:
http://www.orbs.org/verify.php3?address=24.147.1.156
for more information about this list and why you are on it.
==========================================================================
I tried to access this URL, but cannot connect to ORBS.
If I do a traceroute to www.orbs.org, I see that there is
a routing loop somewhere in New Zealand, preventing me from
accessing the ORBS web site.
How can I resolve this issue, so I can correctly access the GCC GNATS
bug reporting mechanism?
Thanks.
