Testsuite ad RedHat 7

gcc 2.96 cannot compile kernel 2.2.x.  To some people, that qualifies
the compiler as buggy.  To others, that qualifies the kernel as buggy. :)

For testing the C++ compiler, how about trying to compile Blitz++, which
is a heavy-duty C++ matrix class library which makes heavy use of templates:

I had some problems with certain earlier versions of 2.96 in June/July, but
2.96 is such a moving target that I can't say for sure what didn't work.  
Things seem pretty stable with the October snapshots of 2.97 from Codesourcery.
