But Jeff, you're the one who understands why you removed the files, and
did so without telling Ulrich thus breaking Ulrich's hyperlink.

Please do try to keep yourselves out of legal trouble, but clearly and
transparently, not by removing files without telling anyone or leaving
an explanation.  That will educate others to avoid the legal trouble in
future.
