Intro:

gcc/g++ has some bugs.  Some of them will prevent you from using it
for your project, some of them won't.  Some of them can cause compiled
code to not work, some of them won't.

Bugs are fixed by volunteers that donate to the project, and there is
no guaranteed response, however, bugs are fixed all the time, and
improvements are always submitted.  The `worse' the bug, or the more
impact the bug has, generally the faster it is fixed.

assurance?  That is a new word, normally I hear certify, whatever that
means.  :-)

If you want a multi-million dollar commercial organization to stake
their name and reputation on it, then please look into commercial
support, a good example of a company that does this is www.cygnus.com.

As you can see, there are no known 2000 problems with gcc proper, and
it is unlikely that someone has introduced any into the egcs compiler.
