That question belongs in Rational's FAQ for Purify (Rational bought Pure),
not the egcs FAQ, for two reasons: first, the problems with Purify and
newer gcc versions (2.8.x and egcs) appear to be bugs in Purify.  Second,
it's a commercial product, and the responsibility for supporting it lies
with the sellers, not with the egcs team.

If you are a Purify customer with a support contract, request that they
fix the problems.
