The differences between egcs-1.0 and egcs-1.0.1 are relatively minor,
but they fix important bugs. The egcs-1.0.1 page has some high
level information on the changes between the two releases.
If you're using 971225, then you've already moved beyond egcs-1.0.1;
you are not missing anything :-)

Not at the moment. However, if we make a egcs-1.0.2 release the memory
consumption patches would be at the top of the patchlist.

Well, all the Cygnus folks have been at company wide meetings for the
last week, so there hasn't been any snapshots or any significant work
done. Hopefully I'll get a snapshot out shortly.
However, I just announced public availability of the egcs sources via
anonymous remote CVS, so there's no need to wait for snapshots anymore!
