compiler error in 971127 mips-sgi-irix6.2

I'm bootstraping egcs-971127 to see if that is the problem.  This
occurs on both a Indigo^2 R10000 and an Indy R4400.  That will take
about 4 hours, and afterward I'll install dejagnu and run the gcc
tests.
