problem in installing gcc on AIX

Hi,
  I am trying to install gcc on AIX 4.3 on RS6000
machine whit the command

        make bootstrap

it is giving the following error 

  ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .alloca

can anybudy help me out, it will be great
