How can I debug gcc execution??

	I have compiled gcc with some modifications. I get
 the compiler, but it is breaking during its execution
 (due to my inclusions, I guess).
	I'd like to follow the execution with gdb.
	How can I do it??
	Is there any way to build the gcc with debug
 information.
