"pSomeClassPtr May be clobbered by jmp or longjmp" ?

Can someone explain how an allocated object can be clobbered, or why I get
this warning message?

>From main I simply allocate a class with new.

CSomeClass    *pSomeClass = 0;
int                         rc = 0;     // result code

pSomeClass = new CSomeClass;
...
...
delete pSomeClass;

The program still compiles and runs, but I'd like to understand why I'm
getting the warnings
 "pSomeClass may be clobbered by a jump or longjump or vfork"
 "int rc may be clobbered by a jump or longjump ...etc."
