It also fails on powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu, so I'm indeed able to look
into it - however, I'm no match for rth in this regard (I think it's a
back- or middle-end problem; however, it doesn't seem to be "just
big-endian", as sparc-linux doesn't have this failure).
