installation error

Hi,

I'm trying to install gcc-3.0.1 under Linux (Slackware 6.0).

Following the installation instructions, I installed the GNU make and,
after
doing  make bootstrap , it fails with these messages

make: *** [bootstrap] Error 2


What is happening? What sould I do?
