Compilation problems w/ 2.95.3 on Sun Solaris 2.5.1 (fully patched)

It might indeed be a bug in GCC 2.95.3, but the fact that Sun's linker
crashes means there is a bug in it.  That's the only thing I can tell
for sure without additional information.  I'm not sure which group
you're talking about, but I myself test GCC weekly on Solaris 2.5, 2.6
and 7, but not on 2.5.1, just because I don't have easy access to it,
and many other operating systems and platforms.
