Compilation problems w/ 2.95.3 on Sun Solaris 2.5.1 (fully patched)

I don't have access to Solaris-2.5, for I would try to copy ld from 2.5 to
2.5.1, but that would defeat the purpose, since I've patched the linker on 2.5.1.
