gcc 2.96 20000614 int. E. in int_fits_type_p

Trying to compile gdb-5.0 on my IRIX 6.5 box
I encounter 
interp.c: In function `value_fpr':
interp.c:2053: Tree check: expected integer_cst, have nop_expr
interp.c:2053: Internal compiler error in `int_fits_type_p', at tree.c:5154

I attach the fully preprocessed file.
