It depends on the kind of answer you are looking for. Apparently, the
bug is caused by using -fsyntax-only, and it is apparently fixed in
the gcc mainline.

So the work-around is either: Either omit -fsyntax-only, or upgrade to
the mainline compiler. Since I know we discussed these options before,
I somehow doubt you are satisfied with this response today :-)
