I bootstrapped successfully on mips-sgi-irix6.4, rs6000-ibm-aix4.1.4.0
and sparc-sun-sunos4.1.3 last night/today from sources of yesterday.
Admittedly this was after a small change to libf2c/Makefile.in, but it
was working before that. (These are native builds with default
configures and (a clean) builddir != srcdir, if it matters.)

KRG> The reason three directories deep is an issue

I don't understand how it can be if the library gets built.

KRG> is because of the autoconf macro AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR_DEFAULT.
KRG> (This macro is referenced by AC_PROG_INSTALL and
KRG> AC_CANONICAL_SYSTEM, both of which are called in
KRG> libf2c/configure.in.) The macro looks like this:

 >> AC_DEFUN(AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR_DEFAULT,
 >> [AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIRS($srcdir $srcdir/.. $srcdir/../..)])

But $srcdir has to be <mumble>/egcs/libf2c, and $srcdir/../install-sh,
i.e. <mumble>/egcs/install-sh, exists does it not?

Sorry, I'm at a loss. If you think the configure o/p or config.log
might help, feel free to mail them to me.
