Hi,
after installing binutils 2.9.1 I run into problems with egcs.
First, `configure' passes `-Wl,-bbigtoc' in LDFLAGS, which is not
recognized by GNU ld ('Unrecognized BFD target: bigtoc').
Second, i got the following:
$ make bootstrap
[...]
Bootstrap comparison failure!
cp/sig.o differs
Indeed:
$ cmp cp/sig.o stage2/cp/sig.o
cp/sig.o stage2/cp/sig.o differ: char 49155, line 201
This appears to be some bfd malfunction in gas:
$ objdump --disassemble stage2/cp/sig.o > dump2
BFD: .../sig.o: Unrecognized storage class 0 for *UND* symbol `'
[very often repeated]
The file gcc/cp/sig.o disassembly dump is ok.
The disassembled files don't show any significant differences.
Do you recommend to uninstall binutils as soon as possible?
