partial friendliness between template class and function -> crash

Hi!

The attached program (that I'm willing to add to the testsuite in
g++.others, may I?) causes the latest snapshot to core dump.

Can anyone confirm whether the program is correct?  I was unable to
reach a conclusion based on my reading of the Standard. :-(
