Installation Question!

I must have the correct version of irun:

[RadSurfer@centos ~]$ cd /home/RadSurfer/Download03/gfortran/irun/bin
[RadSurfer@centos bin]$ ./gcc --version

[RadSurfer@centos bin]$ ./i386-pc-linux-gnu-gcc-4.3.0

I have not moved it to /opt/, and I do not want the normal operation of
gcc (GCC) 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-52) interfeared with....
so I want to be certain I set this up correctly being a total newbie :-)
