And I 100% agree with him.
Usually, this is not a big deal when given maintainers time to
comment, instead of putting them before the fact, GWP
notwithstandanding.  But I would hate to see more bureaucratic process
goes in.

well, that is not the first time people would send ping messages to
the list, if it ever happens that your patch is unnoticed...

For example, I was impressed by how careful Zack was in getting V3
people review/comment on changes he made recently.  I think I remember
similar actions from other maintainers with GWP.

Anyway, as we all seem to understand the issue, that is fine.
