Heheheh... it almost doesn't matter how many are still using the old library.
According to recent discussion on the gcc@ list, all old history must be
preserved for the sake of hypothetical future historians doing research
into how early 21st-century open source programmers did their work.

(I would point out that from autoconf's point of view, the -v3 form is the
"obvious" choice, because it's what works with the rest of the configury.
Yes, we will have to teach it otherwise.  But don't think any of it is
"obvious".)

So, you're voting for (3) or (4)?
