Agreed.  Everything in libstdc++ doesn't have to be under the GPL; much of
libiberty is public domain.

Sorry for my inadequacy at dealing with such issues... I tried to do my best contacting the authors personally (as discussed with Gaby), in order to finally have the code in, after some days of stall.

Should we formally ask again the authors (Stroustrup and Stepanov) the permit to distribute the code as public domain?
